Accountants can be found in every company and organisation. They are generally responsible for managing all of the financial data, which can include maintaining records of transactions and expenses. The role can vary depending on the size of a business. In a smaller company, an accountant will primarily handle the collection, entry and reporting of financial information. Larger organisations will often use accountants to interpret, report, and present financial data internally.
Accountants need to have strong numerical skills, as well as the ability to interpret complex numerical data. Depending on the company, it can also be useful for an Accountant to have good written and verbal communication skills for compiling and presenting reports.
