Given the location and nature of the local economy, average salaries in the City of London tend to be high. While exact amounts can vary, a yearly salary here often exceeds £40,000. While living costs are much higher here than in most other parts of London, and the country as a whole, higher salaries usually ensure living costs are easily manageable. It's also worth noting that while finance is a major player here, the legal sector and night-time economy also have a strong presence here.

The City is extremely well connected when it comes to transport. National rail links are accessible from Blackfriars, Liverpool Street, and Fenchurch Street stations, and the area has a number of tube stations. The extensive bus network is an excellent budget option and covers the majority of The City and Greater London. Thanks to the central location, reaching other boroughs is straightforward. London City Airport is also close by, and regular services to Heathrow and Stanstead operate from the area too.
